ORDER A DENEB ALGEDI TALISMAN
I am very pleased to be able to offer these authentic
silver talismans of the fixed star Deneb Algedi, Delta Capricornis,
the "Tail of Capricorn", for safety, protection and wealth!
We have an interesting split in our sources for the
talismans of Deneb Algedi. Cornelius Agrippa says,
"Under the tail of Capricorn they made the image of an Hart, or Goat, or of an angryman;
it bestoweth prosperity, and increaseth wrath." Three Books of Occult Philosophy,
Bk II, ch 47. Agrippa's source, however,
Hermes on the 15 Fixed Stars says, "gives favor in lawsuits, improves the home in which it is kept,
keeps it [the home] secure, and increases all manner of riches."
The Book of Hermes on the 15 fixed stars, BM Bodleian MS. 52, ff. 44-47,
Translated by John Michael Greer.
As is usual when we run across discrepancies in the 17th century
JF English translation of Three Books of Occult Philosophy we need to check the original Latin.
It says, "Under the tail of Capricorn make the image of a hart or he-goat or an angry man, which gives
prosperity and augments life." Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk II, ch 47. Latin critical edition
ed Compagni (Brill, 1992) at 367, trans. Christopher Warnock, Esq.
Deneb Algedi Talisman Back
We have the further testimony of the Renaissance mage
Marsilio Ficino who follows Hermes on the 15 Fixed Stars and
says of Deneb Algedi, "They think is furthers favor in lawsuits, increases wealth and makes men and
their homes safe." Three Books on Life Bk. III, ch 8.
On the front of the talisman is the image of Capricorn with his
fishy tail. On the back is the sigil of the Deneb Algedi from Agrippa's
Three Books of Occult Philosophy and a quote
in Hebrew from Psalm Psalms 122.7: "May there be peace within your walls, and security within your citadels."
