Cornelius Agrippa's Jupiter & Sirius Talisman for Prosperity and Good Fortune

Now the fair goddess, Fortune,
Fall deep in love with thee; and her great charms
Misguide thy opposers’ swords! Bold gentleman,
Prosperity be thy page!

William Shakespeare

This month has provided an number of excellent elections. This week we combine Jupiter, the Greater Benefic with the Dog Star, Sirius. Good elections for Jupiter will cease in August 2002 and an equally auspicious election will not recur until 2006!
The English astrologer William Lilly says that Jupiter, when well dignified, signifies,

Table of Jupiter
"...Then is he Magnanimous, Faithfull, Bashfull, Aspiring in an honourable way at high matters, in all his actions a Lover of fair Dealing, desiring to benefit all men, doing Glorious things, Honourable and Religious, of sweet and affable Conversation, wonderfully indulgent to his Wife and Children, reverencing Aged men, a great Reliever of the Poor, full of Charity and Godlinesse, Liberal, hating all Sordid actions, Just, Wife, Prudent, Thankfull, Vertuous..."

Christian Astrology, page 62.
The Renaissance mage Cornelius Agrippa says that a talisman of Jupiter,

"[C]onduceth to gain, and riches, favor, and love, peace, and concord, and to appease enemies, to confirm honors, dignities, and counsels..."

Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Bk II, Chapter 22.

The fixed star, Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, is similarly auspicious. Cornelius Agrippa says that,

"Under the Greater Dog Star, they made an image of an hound and a little virgin; it bestoweth honour and good will, and the favor of men, and aerial spirits, and giveth the power to pacify and reconcile kings, princes, and other men."

Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. II, Chapter 47, (Tyson ed.) page 395. See the election for Agrippa's Sirius Talisman for more information.
The time chosen for the election is May 15, 2002 at 4:32 pm EDT in Cleveland Park, a neighborhood of Washington, D.C. 38 N 56, 77 W 03.
Jupiter is conjunct the Midheaven and well dignified in her exaltation Cancer. Jupiter is conjunct the benefic fixed star Sirius.
The Moon, important in any election, is also dignified in her sign Cancer and is applying to a conjunction of Jupiter and Sirius. The Moon is waxing.
