will receive both practical and theoretical instruction in traditional elections and
will be able to chose auspicious times for many different activities.
The required
texts for the Electional Course are E.M.W. Tillyard's
Elizabethan World Picture
and the
Renaissance Astrology Electional Compilation. All
other necessary texts will be provided to the student through their personal web pages.
Students will also need to obtain a current ephemeris.
It is highly recommended that students
obtain the Renaissance Astrology CD Library I, II & III
which contains William Lilly'sChristian Astrology
and Cornelius Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy as well as
many other books useful for the Electional Course. Astrological software with
traditional features, e.g. Solarfire or Janus, is extremely helpful.
Note that
this course is rigourously traditional and will not teach such heresies as planetary
rulerships by the outer planets, orbs by aspects or other modern innovations.
