The Astrology for Rootworkers Mini-Course is designed to teach contemporary rootworkers how their predecessors used astrology and how to use some techniques of traditional astrology in rootwork and hoodoo. While astrology is not a mainstream technique in hoodoo, traditional rootworkers used the phases of the Moon and the signs of the Zodiac, primarily for timing. You, too, can increase the power and efficacy of your work with astrological timing. In addition, students of the Astrology for Rootworkers Course will learn about the planets in traditional astrology and planetary days and hours, which can be used for for timing rootwork and making talismans.
While rootwork and traditional astrology are two distinct traditions, they blend well and in combining these two systems we are following in the footsteps of earlier rootworkers and hoodoo doctors. This course does not teach hoodoo or rootwork and assumes that students already have some grasp of it. For those wishing to learn hoodoo and rootwork I highly recommend Cat Yronwode's Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course. In addition, the Astrology for Rootworkers Course does not teach all of traditional astrology and astrological magic. This is covered in my Astrological Magic Course. Specially designed planetary petition papers, to use in mojo bags and hands are also included. The planetary hours software program, TPHP, is also provided with the Astrology for Rootworkers Course.
The Astrology for Rootworkers Mini-Course can be used for self study and is an amazing reference work, but students can also work through the lessons, at their own pace, complete their Masterpiece talisman and receive a Certificate of Completion.
