Christopher Warnock
Christopher Warnock is a practicing attorney, Renaissance astrologer and astrological magician. He lives with his wife Kathleen in the historic Adam and Mary Dobry House in the Goosetown neighborhood of Iowa City, Iowa, home of the Big Ten University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the renowned Iowa Writers' Workshop. He practices the authentic traditional astrology and astrological magic of the Renaissance, giving a wide variety of astrological readings,including horary astrology, which looks at the charts of the asking of questions, electional astrology, which picks astrologically auspicious times to take action, as well as Full Natal and Mini-Natal readings. He provides readings on the web, by phone or in Iowa City. He is also the leading expert on astrological talismans which uses traditional astrology to pick times to create talismans. He also offers a wide variety of courses in authentic Renaissance astrology and magic. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) where he received an M.A.(Hons.) in modern history, concentrating on the history of the Renaissance.
During the same period he had the privilege of many reasonings with elders like Ras Pidow, of the Rainbow Throne of the Nyahbingi Theocratic Order and learning the truth about HIM, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
He was student #10 and is a graduate of Cat Yronwode's Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course and is an expert on the use of astrology in hoodoo and rootwork. In addition to practicing astrology, he follows the spiritual path of Hermeticism, a practical path to Gnosis, based on the writings traditionally attributed to Hermes Trismegistus as well as working with the Renaissance ceremonial magic of Cornelius Agrippa, Marsilio Ficino and Picatrix.
He has translated and published the Latin version of De Imaginibus "On Images" a important treatise on astrological magic and is the founder and publisher of Renaissance Astrology Press. He is currently working with John Michael Greer, a leading author and ceremonial magician, to translate the Latin Picatrix. He has been published in Horary Practitioner, Pathways, the Astrological Association Journal, and the Llewellyn Moon Sign Books for 2002 & 2003, Dell Horoscope magazine and repeatedly in the Mountain Astrologer. Mr. Warnock has been profiled in the Washington Legal Times the New York Lawyer and the Washington Post. He has also appeared on the series "Critical Eye" on the Science Channel and in local Iowa City, Iowa TV news.
