Trade and Wealth Talisman from Book One, Chapter Five of Picatrix

This week's talisman continues a series of comparisons of the new English translation from Arabic of the Picatrix from Ouroboros Press and the Latin Picatrix edited by David Pingree which is available from the Warburg Institute.
The Picatrix is an encyclopedic work of medieval Arabic astrological magic. It had great influence on Renaissance mages like Cornelius Agrippa and Marsilio Ficino and was unpublished, in any language, until modern times. We are therefore fortunate to have the Ouroboros translation of the first two books of Picatrix. Comparison between the Latin and Ouroboros Picatrix, however, makes the Ouroboros translation clearer.
We turn to the first talisman on page 33 of the Ouroboros translation of Book One, Chapter Five of Picatrix.

A talisman for expanding wealth and trade

Gold
Make a picture, after you bring good luck to the ascendant, to Al-Ashir and to their master, to the master of their house, to the Moon and its master, as well as the master of the Ascendant. You are also to bring good luck to Al-Thani and its master and let the sign of Al-Thani mutually accept connection to the sign of the Ascendant either in a triangular or hexagonal form.

Furthermore you may bring good luck to Al-Thani and let a share of fortune be in the Ascendant or in Al-Ashir and have them join the shareholder while he is looking at his share. You may also give good luck to Al-Hadi-Ashar and its master. The holder of this picture will be the wealthiest person on Earth. All his trade transactions will proceed smoothly, and he will make good profits from every move he makes.
Here is the corresponding talisman from the Latin Picatrix

An image to increase sales and profits. Fashion images, and make fortunate the Ascendant and the Tenth house and their lords, and the lord of the house of the lord of the Ascendant, and the lord of the house of the lord of the Tenth, the Moon and the lord of its house, as well as the Second house and its lord, and place the lord of the Second house in reception with the lord of the Ascendant by trine or sextile aspect, and place a fortune in the Second house, and place the Part of Fortune in the Ascendant or the Tenth house, and have the Lord of the Part of Fortune aspecting it with a good aspect. And when this image has thus been made, carry it with you, and hide it secretly so that none might see it, and you shall gain money in great quantities and have good fortune in all your undertakings.

Based on the Latin Picatrix we would alter the Ouroboros translation as follows,

Make a picture, after you bring good luck to the ascendant, to [the 10th house and its lord], to [the lord of the house of the lord of the 10th] to the Moon and its [lord], as well as the [lord] of the Ascendant. You are also to bring good luck to [the 2nd house and its lord] and let the [lord of the 2nd apply to a trine or sextile of the lord of the Ascendant with mutual reception].

Furthermore you may bring good luck to [the 2nd house] and let [the Part of Fortune] be in the Ascendant or in [the 10th] and [let the lord of the Part of Fortune fortunately aspect the Part of Fortune]. You may also give good luck to [11th house and its lord]. The holder of this picture will be the wealthiest person on Earth. All his trade transactions will proceed smoothly, and he will make good profits from every move he makes.
In this election for September 13, 2004 at 5:36 am EDT (+4) for Washington, D.C. 38 N 56, 77 W 03. 5 Virgo rises.
Mercury is the ruler of the Ascendant, 10th and 2nd and is highly dignified by ruler, exaltation and term. While Picatrix doesn't mention this Mercury is the natural ruler of business and trade.
Mercury is also the ruler of the house of the Moon and the ruler of the Part of Fortune. The Part of Fortune is in the Ascendant. The Moon is dignified by triplicity.
