Nigel Jackson's Sun Talisman from Cornelius Agrippa, Giordano Bruno and Picatrix

Give me the splendid silent sun, with all his beams full-dazzling!

Walt Whitman

I am once again very pleased to provide not only an excellent election, but another Nigel Jackson Image, this time for the Sun in Aries.
It's not too late for members of my discussion group Spiritus Mundi to obtain a paper version of this talisman image. For ordering and more information follow this link. Instructions for a standard talisman using the seal and table of the Sun also appear below.
The image, a version of which modified to be ineffectual for magical purposes appears above to right, was inspired by several traditional sources. The first comes from Cornelius Agrippa,

"They made another Image of the Sun in a Diamond, at the hour of the Sun, it ascending in his exaltation; the figure of which was a woman crowned with the gesture of one dancing and laughing, standing in a Chariot drawn with four horses, having in her right hand a looking glass, or buckler [clypeum], in the left a staffe, leaning on her breast, carrying a flame of fire on her head; They report that this Image rendreth a man fortunate and rich, and beloved of all..."

Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Bk. I, Chapter 41.
The next description of Sun images come from De Umbris Idearum of Giordano Bruno,

"First Image: A beautiful woman wearing a crown, in a chariot of gold drawn by four horses."

The final description is from Picatrix, an encyclopedic work of medieval Islamic astral magic,

"Si ex formis Solis ymaginem mulieris supra currum quatuor equis tractum sedentis feceris et in eius dextra speculum, in sinistra vero baculum tenetis, et supra eius caput septem candelabra, in lapide adamantis, Sole in sua exaltacione existente, qui hanc ymaginem secum portaverit omnes videntes eum et obviantes timebunt eum."

"The figure of the Sun is the image of a woman sitting in a chariot drawn by four horses, holding in her right hand a mirror and in her left hand a scepter with a seven branched candelabra over her head, made in [diamond or white sapphire] when the Sun is in his exaltation. Whoever carries this image will seem good to everyone and not be afraid."

Picatrix Bk. II, Chapter X, page 70. (Translation by Christopher Warnock, Esq.)
The time for the making of the talisman is March 24, 2002 at 6:10 am EST (+5) (Well, it's back to the crack of dawn!) in Washington, D.C. 38 N 55, 77 W 03. At this time the Sun rises in his exaltation Aries and it is Sunday and the planetary hour of the Sun. The Moon applies to a partile trine with reception of the Sun and a partile conjunction of the Part of Fortune. Very nice!
You can also use this election to create a Sun talisman using the table and seal of the Sun. Agrippa says that the table of the Sun is a square of six with thirty six numbers. Each vertical, diagonal or horizontal row adds up to 111 and the sum of all the numbers in the square is 666,

"This being engraven on a golden plate with the Sun being fortunate, renders him that wears it to be renowned, amiable, acceptable, potent in all his works, and equals a man to kings and princes, elevating him to high fortunes, enabling him to do whatsoever he pleases..."

Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. II, Chapter 22, (Tyson ed.) page 319.
At the elected time write the table of the Sun on paper using gold ink or for longer lasting and more powerful effect, engrave the table on a gold plate.

On the reverse side place the Seal of the Sun shown to right. You can add the divine names associated with the Sun, Vau and Eloh, as well as the name of Raphael who is the angel of the Sun. Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk II, Chapter 22, (Tyson ed.) page 320; Bk. III, Chapter 24, (Tyson ed.) page 532.
Add your own name, personal symbol, if you have one or create a logo using your initials. Finally you should write or engrave your goal or intention for the talisman, e.g. wealth, health or security in a journey.
