"Under the tail of Ursa Major they made the image of a pensive Man, or of a Bull, or the Figure of a Calf; it availeth against incantations, and maketh him who carrieth it secure in his travels: " Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Bk II, ch 47. On the front of the Alkaid talisman which you can see above to right is a beautiful image by Nigel Jackson, the talented artist/mage from Agrippa's description of the image of the Alkaid, a pensive man with the stars of the Big Dippper in the background. This image also comes from Sufi sources as it depicts the Qutb or pole, the spiritual axis around which the spiritual life of the world revolves. On the back is the sigil of the Alkaid from Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy and a quote in Hebrew from Psalm 121.7, "The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life." Agrippa discusses the construction of rings for fixed stars using astrological magic and his instructions are applicable to talismans as well, "...when any star ascends fortunately, with the fortunate aspect or conjunction of the Moon...not omitting the inscriptions of images, names and characters, also the proper suffumigations..." Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. I, Chapter 47
Following these instructions the talismans were created at a precisely elected time, 3:35 pm MDT, May 9, 2014 for Boulder, Colorado the location of , our mage/jeweler. Alkaid rises and the Moon applies to conjoin the Ascendant and Alkaid. I am pleased to offer beautiful Golden Bronze talismans of Alkaid. They are about an 1.15 inches (33 cm) in diameter, about 1/16 inch (3 cm) thick weighing 1/2 of an ounce (16 grams). They are composed of golden bronze which is 92% copper, 4% zinc and 4% silicon with silver added. After being cast at the elected time, the talismans were then consecrated and a cord added so they can be worn as a pendent. Each talisman comes with a color Nigel Jackson image of the Alkaid for mediation and visualization as well as full consecration and ritual instructions. Only a very few of these talismans were made. They are unique and the timing of their election can never be replicated. They were carefully cast to the specifications in our original sources at the exact time most auspicious for Alkaid. These talismans are wonderful examples of the ancient art of astrological magic, authentically and beautifully made!
