Introduction to the Astrology of Curses, Hexes & Bewitchment

If one believes in the existence of benefic spiritual powers then logically one must also accept the existence of malefic ones. This question will, of course, never arise for someone under the sway of the modern mechanistic worldview.
Nowadays we tend to associate witchcraft and curses with full time magical

practitioners who accomplish their effects with prolonged rituals or magical objects. While this type of bewitchment may take place, it is not the only type of curse. In medieval and early modern England it was believed that merely ill wishing and cursing the victim could do damage. "When a bad-tongued woman shall curse a party and death shall shortly follow, wrote a 17th century source, this is a shrewd token that she is a witch." cited in Keith Thomas, Religion and the Decline of Magic (Oxford, 1971) page 512.
The spiritual connection that a witch had naturally with all her neighbors, a parent had with their children. In 1646 the author of a treatise on witchcraft wrote, "A parent curses his child and God says Amen to it. Hereupon the child is obsessed or strangely handled, peradventure perishes." Religion and the Decline of Magic, page 506.

Even the 16th century German author Johann Weyer, sceptical in general of the efficacy of curses, says,

If some sinister outcome is occasionally seen to result from malicious imprecations made by parents against their children, this does not invalidate my point at all, because of the peculiar inborn sympathy between parents and children, by reason of which God sometimes puts forward frightening examples [of the effectivess of such curses].

Thus not only can the effects of the magical practitioner or witch be detected through traditional astrology, but we begin to have an understanding of the true connections between parent and child. A parent can not only cause physical and emotional damage to a child, but also spiritual damage and it is this spiritual harm that has become apparent in our Curse Example Horary where we have detected the spiritual damage caused by parental denigration and ill-wishing.
Bewitchment and familial curses depend on spiritual casuality. Renaissance astrology, as a spiritual science, has the capability to reveal all types of spiritual connections and sympathies. The occult, in the sense of hidden, nature of curses, hexes and bewitchment means that horary astrology is one of the best tools available for detecting curses and their perpetrators. As many people believe that they are cursed when they are not, horary astrology can help restore peace of mind.

Using Astrology to Judge A Curse Question

When I am asked a curse or bewitchment question, like any horary question, I cast a horoscope for the time of the asking of the question. Rather than examining the birth of a person, I look to the birth of the question. I am guided by the William Lilly's Christian Astrology first published in 1647. In Christian Astrology Lilly sets forth specific rules for curse questions.

The key house is the twelfth which rules witchcraft. We look to see whether or not the 12th house and the 1st house (representing the querent asking the question) are ruled by the same planet. Then we look to see if there is any contact between the ruler of the 12th and the ruler of the 1st, the Ascendant or the Moon. If so, this is a definite indication of witchcraft.
If we determine that the victim is indeed cursed, then it is often possible through examining the afflicting planet and its sign and house placement to give the location and physical description of the witch.

How to Ask "Am I Cursed?"

Provide detailed description of the circumstances that lead you to believe you are cursed, including any suspected witch or spell caster,
Provide a physical description of the suspected curser or witch, if known, e.g., short, tall, thin, muscular, etc, and,
If you are asking on behalf of someone else I need to know what your relationship is to the victim of the curse, e.g., friend, husband, aunt, etc.,
